Glow Spot Roach - Lucihormetica subcincta

Nymphs of this species are deep maroon with small orange heads, while adults are predominantly black; males are especially distinctive, bearing enlarged pronotums with two bright yellow spots. In nature, these spots can appear to glow due to fluorescent fungi in the roaches’ diet. Although they do not typically glow in captivity, the spots change color due to diet. This species is also notable for constructing semi-permanent burrows, and benefit from deeper substrate.
